Sante Spirite is a country located in the southwestern region of Loquille in the continent of Petra. Due to its proximity to the sea and near the equator, it has a tropical climate with a focus on fishing and trade. In the north-eastern regions, there are mines where marble is extracted and used for both building and trade.

The national language of Sante Spirite is Sanspirite, a Romance language similar to the Earth language Spanish. Sante Spirite is named after Spirite, a revolutionary who led a religious revolutionary group called Les Spirites.

History

Sante Spirite was originally split between different kingdoms in southern Loquille, many of which had strict rules that oppressed the rights of the citizens that lived there, including religion. Spirite was a figure that believed in a religion called Wicca and unified the people in the different kingdoms. The Kingdom of White Sand was the first to begin persecuting the people, which led to Les Spirites fighting back against the oppression.

This led to a violent period known as The Beheadings where Les Spirites would either defeat the monarch in charge of a kingdom, or the monarch would give in. Eventually, The Kingdom in the Sea would fall. Spirite would also fall during the final battle and would later be buried in the old castle, leaving Asteu, their right-hand man, to become the first Viziér.

Asteu worked with other generals to create the constitution that Sante Spirite now follows.

Major cities

• La Sutadi de Mar is the capitol and serves as both the largest city with 28% of the population, as well as serving as a major point of trade and immigration from Ka'aktu Tanunate. The city was made from the remains of The Kingdom in the Sea.

• Nispa Blanxa is the second largest city and was developed from the remains of The Kingdom of White Sand. They have approximately 19% of the population and produce about 80% of Sante Spirite's marble production.

• Lu Fin was made from the remnants of Outcast and a handful of neighboring villages after The Beheadings, a place where those who did not fit into the rules of the Loquillan Kingdoms would live. It has roughly 13% of the population, as well as housing the majority of the Christian population.

• Lagos Cristalos is a city made from the remnants of The Kingdom of Crystal Lakes and has 10% of the country's population. The city is at the northwestern-most border next.

• La Sutadi de Sare is a city in the south next to La Sutadi de Mar and has around 10% of the population. It also serves as a secondary port made from the remnants of The Kingdom of Salt.

Culture

The majority religion is Wicca, a religion that is originally from Earth with more of a focus on personal growth. Due to the relatively relaxed religious laws, Santistes are generally more open towards different interpretations of gender and sexuality. This has led to three separate gender identities being officially recognized. Due to the same laws, Magic Mushrooms are not only legal, but make up one of their largest exports of luxury goods.

While the people are generally pacifist, violence is not feared and self-defense is a required course throughout their schooling.

The country also has eight national holidays corresponding to the Sabbats along with one more national holiday commemorating the death of Spirite and the country's formation. All non-essential government operations are halted and non-essential businesses will generally close on these days.

Language

There are three major languages spoken in the country: Sanspirite, Leña Aruma and San Ĉeruc

Sanspirite

Approximately 92% of the population speaks Sanspirite at a B1 or higher level, and is the national language, as well as the liturgical language of Wicca.

Leña Aruma

Due to the recent collapse of The Kingdom of Gold, a large number of Arumistes have settled in the eastern portion of Sante Spirite, as well as the capital. Approximately 10% of the population speaks at a b2 or higher level, although the figure is expected to rise to 20% within the coming years.

San Ĉeruc

San Ĉeruc is a minority language mostly spoken in the Wasteland portion of Loquille, mainly in the city of ill add in a second. While the language is taught within Wasteland, the majority of people cannot speak it outside of these areas. The language itself is related to Magen, and has a decently high mutual-intelligibility.

International Relations

Loquillan Alliance

Sante Spirite is a member of the Loquillan Alliance, an alliance formed between various members of the Loquille region as well as Ka'aktu Tanunate. The Alliance have open and free trade with each other and have laws in place to protect the others in case of conflict.

The Kingdom of Gold

While the two countries are not openly hostile, there is very little trade due to The Kingdom of Gold being isolationist. They will, however, assist each other when either is threatened due to them relying on the other for keeping borders safe.

Kubonic

Due to the Loquillan Alliance's stance on Kubonicism, all Kubonic Countries are barred from trading with Sante Spirite.
